UCC News: Competition Winners & Upcoming Classes
On Saturday, May 5, 2018 the Utah Career Center held an apprentice skill contest that determined the apprentice representatives for the June District 5 Regional Contest. The competition was very close with each participant being a highly skilled apprentice. The winners are:
HVAC – Jesse Breinholt – Mechanical Service & Systems
Plumber – Mason Finch – CCI Mechanical, Inc.
Welder – Peder Holmstead – Industrial Piping & Welding, Inc.
Pipefitter – Josh Linscomb – Mechanical Service & Systems
All participants were given a prize and thanked for their dedication to the trade as well as their willingness to compete to represent the program in the Colorado Regional Contest. Special thanks to DEWALT for donating power tools to all participants, Humphries Welding Supply for donation welding helmets to all welding competitors, Hajoca for donating flashlights & hand tools for all participants, and Industrial Piping Products for hoodies & safety gloves for all participants. We wish the winners luck as they head to compete in Denver, Colorado on June 20 & 21.
In June the UCC will be offering plumber continuing education classes on June 11, 13, and 18 from 5PM-9PM. As a reminder, continuing education credit offered through the Utah Career Center cannot be submitted towards a contractor’s license.
