UMCA 75th Anniversary Celebration
As we close out the 2022 year, I find myself reflecting over the year and just how incredibly fast it flew by. 2022 marked the UMCA’s 75th year of representing the leading plumbing and mechanical contractors in the state of Utah. While we spotlighted the anniversary all year long, we celebrated it on November 9th at the University of Utah’s Rice Eccles Stadium. In addition to celebrating this milestone we also honored D. Patrick Lynch with UMCA’s Distinguished Service Award for his years of dedicated leadership, insight and for unselfishly giving back to the mechanical contracting industry. The DSA award has only been presented twice before and both recipients Gary Sander and Rick Cowley were in attendance and recognized that evening.
Over the 75 years the association has had its share of challenges however, its strength has always been due to the caliber of its membership who constantly work to innovate and improve their companies, for their commitment to their employees, and for their dedication to the industry. I believe this to be evident as I am honored to be just the second executive vice president of the UMCA over that 75-year history. The camaraderie of this organization was on display that anniversary evening as it is at each of our events, education sessions, and in the day in and day out phone calls we get from our incredible members.
