Foreman Training Course Teaches Advanced Level Leadership Skills
Tom Williams returned to Utah for the Six Habits of the Highly Effective Foreman course taught on two days at the Utah Career Center. Foremen were engaged in learning the characteristics, skills and practices of a great foreman. Foremen were given a refresher on the basic skills needed to maintain safety, encourage teamwork, and achieve peak productivity while providing high quality work.
Attendees examined the role of a foreman in setting goals and moving toward accomplishing set goals. Additionally, attendees were taken through a series of activities that detailed the real cost of a labor hour and the impact that one hour can have in a typical mechanical contractor’s operation. Additional topics covered included job scheduling, negotiation, cost of activity, and potential loss. Attendees were presented with situations and were tasked with finding potential solutions and overall changes that could be made internally to prevent loss in the future. If you would like additional information on what was provided in the class you can download the PDF from the class here. For those who missed attending this class, Tom will be back in Utah on January 25th and 26th. We will release additional information, including registration as the date nears.
