Incoming Secretary of Labor: Andrew Puzder
December 8, President-elect Donald Trump announced he was nominating fast food CEO Andrew Puzder to head the U.S. Department of Labor as Secretary of Labor. Since 2000, Puzder has been the CEO of CKE Restaurants, Inc., owner of the Hardee’s and Carl Jr. fast food restaurants.
Puzder’s confirmation hearing is set for January 12.

The current Secretary of Labor is Thomas Perez, who was appointed by President Obama and confirmed by the Senate in 2013. His nomination was supported by labor groups, such as the AFL-CIO, and the United Farm Workers of America.
