Technology, Data Capture, and the Role of the Mechanical Contractor
featuring Nathan Wood
Come for the credits, stay for the boost in productivity.
AEC thought leader Nathan Wood will present his seminar “Technology, Data Capture, and the Role of the Mechanical Contractor” at the Utah Career Center, Thursday, October 13 from Noon to 3:30 PM. The seminar can count toward 3.5 hours of professional continuing education credits for contractors and plumbers.
This seminar will explore the different data-collecting technologies available today, including Building Information Modeling (BIM), Lean, and Integrated Project Delivery (IPD) and how mechanical contractors are using them to improve their bottom line.
Wood has the ability to identify root causes that prevent new technology from being used, and works alongside project stakeholders and technical managers to organize a team around clear goals with shared incentives. He understands how rewarding design and construction can be when project teams embrace a new viewpoint of digital collaboration. As Spectrum AEC’s founder and chief enabling officer, Nathan leverages his international experience with BIM, Lean, and IPD to support the development and use of flexible standards that balance the needs of people, process, and technology.
Wood will cover different strategies for collecting and analyzing performance data across projects, and identifying struggling projects before they become a bigger issue. This seminar will conclude with a roundtable discussion about the current challenges of sharing data between the other project players, such as general contractors, engineers, and owners.
Lunch will be served.
Registration Deadline: Monday, October 10.
