nathan-wood-screen-shotAECX 2016 served as the perfect backdrop for connecting with industry professionals and thought leaders to build community dialogue. With 20 exhibits on the floor, over 300 industry leaders representing more than 50 companies, and 37 sponsors, AECX 2016 offered quality interaction among attendees and industry insiders. Bluebeam VP of Strategic Partnerships Sasha Reed was asked to moderate the industry speaker panel for the event, which featured a variety of industry influencers and luminaries on hand to discuss emerging technologies and trends within the AEC realm.

There’s this dilemma between what is possible and what is practical… we still live in the real world… real projects that are going on and real challenges that until we address that as a community and move forward as a community, it’s just going to create this battle between the two sides – of those who want to move the industry forward and those who just aren’t that comfortable.”

– Nathan Wood

Prior to the event, AECX co-founders Cody Nowak and Kameron Burk sat down with Reed for an exclusive chat that also featured Digit Group CEO Paul Doherty, IDEAbuilder co-founder Damon Hernandez, and SpectrumAEC founder and CEO Nathan Wood. The conversation that followed offers an intimate look at the goals and vision for AECX, as well as the value of hackathons in AEC, the importance of building community, the need for increasing R&D, and idea-sharing during this new renaissance of project partnerships.

Watch the video for this exclusive, off-the-cuff and spirited discussion between these industry thought leaders on where AEC has been and where AEC is going.
